A pair of horned stags is shown in silhouette, their antlers, eyes, and muscular shoulders carefully defined with delicate sgraffito incision through the painted slip. Accompanying them is a mythical panther-bird, depicted with outstretched wings, a powerful feline body, and an elaborate sweeping tail. The composition is animated by dotted rosettes and finely incised star-shaped filler ornaments, distinctive elements of the Orientalizing style that established Corinth as the foremost producer and exporter of fine painted pottery during the 7th century BC.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eAdditional decorative bands enrich the vessel.
