The Paracas people also practiced artificial cranial deformation, and such headbands may have been used during infancy in conjunction with this practice, while later serving to emphasize the deliberately elongated shape of the skull in adulthood.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThe gorgeous textile bands are composed of tightly woven camelid fibres, probably alpaca or llama wool, in a vibrant palette of crimson, emerald green, gold, wheat, and citrine.
