Ancient Greece, c. 500-400BC, Attica, Athens.
Magnificent small-sized Attic black-painted lekythos of a traditional form with a slender, tall body, a tubular neck and a single handle joining neck to shoulder, all standing upon a tiered round foot. The exterior walls are extensively decorated with a palmette design flanked by scroll and leaves. On each side: two youths enwrapped in black-bordered himatia, facing each other. The shoulder is decorated with three stylized leaf motifs. Moderate condition. Age-related heavy wear and abrasion. The chimney mouth and part of the foot lost in antiquity. Mineral encrustation, soil and dust. Size approx. 12,9cm x 6,1cm x 6,1cm.

Returns
Returns and exchange will be accepted within fourteen days (14) of receipt at the purchaser’s cost to include freight and packaging. Items must be returned in the same condition as when they were shipped, and will not be accepted if damaged or altered in any way.
