Mesmerizing aged unusual hand-carved and triangular-shaped stone oil lamp from Amazigh tribes of Anti-Atlas region, Morocco. A deep, ovoid depression in the center was made to hold oil and wick. The reverse is flat on its largest surface. The Amazigh (plural Imazighen, "noble and free people") any of the descendants of the pre-Arab inhabitants of North Africa. Their myths, legends and history span 9,000 years, back to the Proto-Mediterraneans. The Amazigh are also known as Berbers, deriving from Greek for ‘foreigner, non-Greek speaking, "barbaric", though this term - used widely by invading forces and colonial authorities, is largely rejected by Amazigh themselves due to its negative connotations.
Good condition. Intact. Chip and nicks. Rich dark encrusted patina and soot. Significant wear from handling and use. Size approx. 7,3cm x 6,3cm x 3,8cm

Returns
Returns and exchange will be accepted within fourteen days (14) of receipt at the purchaser’s cost to include freight and packaging. Items must be returned in the same condition as when they were shipped, and will not be accepted if damaged or altered in any way.
