The Roman Empire, c. 100-300AD.
Absolutely gorgeous, large and heavy ancient Roman bronze ring. The band of the ring is wide and thick, symmetrical in shape. Rings were the most worn type of jewellery during the Roman period and were worn by men, women and children. They were made of gold, silver, copper, bronze, iron and glass and sometimes had precious stones and intaglios set in them. Finger rings were a sign of wealth, status, and knowledge. The Plebeians or the common people used cheaper rings made out of bronze, iron or other less expensive metals to reduce the cost of manufacture while displaying their social status. Golden rings were reserved for men of senatorial rank and for the bureaucrats.
Good condition. Intact. A fine green patina envelops in layers of mottled hues. Age-related wear. Dents and minimal corrosion. Size approx. 2,4cm x 2,4cm x 0,6cm. Weight c. 8g

Returns
Returns and exchange will be accepted within fourteen days (14) of receipt at the purchaser’s cost to include freight and packaging. Items must be returned in the same condition as when they were shipped, and will not be accepted if damaged or altered in any way.
