Meiji era, late 19th or early 20th century, Japan.
Elegant Japanese Meiji period stained ivory box and the cover. The Meiji era (Meiji jidai) refers to the period in Japanese history from 1868 to 1912 during which the Meiji Emperor reigned. Intriguing lidded ivory trinket box in a form of a wooden water barrel, with applied pigments for accentuating carved details. Water barrel decorated with engraved mountain scene with birds, branches and floral motifs, signed by the artist in the image. Good condition. Age related wear and minimal chip. Size approx. 6,4cm x 6,9cm x 6,3cm.

Returns
Returns and exchange will be accepted within fourteen days (14) of receipt at the purchaser’s cost to include freight and packaging. Items must be returned in the same condition as when they were shipped, and will not be accepted if damaged or altered in any way.
