This captivating cast bronze cooking pot embodies the artistry and functionality of traditional Laotian craftsmanship. With its wide mouth, flared lip, and saucer-shaped body, the pot showcases a harmonious blend of elegance and practicality. Two small, sturdy handles accentuate its form, while the body’s thin walls and gracefully curved shape highlight the skill of the artisan who cast it.
A delicate dotted decoration adds subtle embellishment, enhancing the pot’s understated beauty. Over centuries of use, the bronze alloy has developed a richly textured, multicolored patina—a testament to its history of cooking over open fires. This natural encrustation not only reflects the pot's long life but also lends it an undeniable charm.
Such vessels were integral to daily life in the Kingdom of Lan Xang and later in the Kingdom of Vientiane. Beyond their utilitarian purpose, they reveal the artistry and cultural importance of culinary tools in Laotian history, making this pot both a functional object and a cultural artifact.
Excellent condition. Intact. Age-related wear, corrosion and minimal dents. Abrasion and chip in the rim. Rich earthen deposits. Size approx. 16,3cm x 16,3cm x 10,0cm.

Returns
Returns and exchange will be accepted within fourteen days (14) of receipt at the purchaser’s cost to include freight and packaging. Items must be returned in the same condition as when they were shipped, and will not be accepted if damaged or altered in any way.
