Medieval to Post-Medieval, c. 1200–1600 AD, England

A charming and well-preserved set of four Medieval to Post-Medieval copper-alloy mounts, discovered in England. This attractive assemblage includes a circular strap mount, a convex cinquefoil mount, a small buckle, and a rectangular mount with incised geometric motifs—each showcasing period craftsmanship and functional elegance. These mounts originally adorned belts, caskets, harnesses, or other leather fittings, serving both practical and decorative purposes.

Beautiful patination attests to their centuries-long burial, while the variety of forms highlights the richness of medieval metalwork. Collectively, they offer a captivating glimpse into daily life and personal adornment throughout the Middle Ages—a millennium marked by dramatic cultural, political, and artistic transformation across Europe.

Good condition. Signs of wear consistent with age and use. Missing studs. Dents and minimal corrosion. Size varies from 1,3cm to 3,0cm. Sell as a set.
