This fascinating small-sized polychrome pottery bowl showcases the artistry and ingenuity of Michoacán's ancient culture. The hand-built vessel features a wide, shallow basin with thick walls and a flared rim, all supported by a unique flaring pedestal foot adorned with pierced star-shaped holes—a highly unusual and striking detail.

The pedestal foot contains a small pottery ball, which produces a rattling sound when moved, adding a dynamic sensory element to the piece. The interior of the basin is decorated with a simple yet elegant star pattern rendered in hues of vermilion, further enhancing its visual appeal. This captivating bowl reflects the creative craftsmanship and symbolic artistry of Michoacán during the Late Post-Classic period, making it an extraordinary testament to the region's cultural heritage.

Moderate condition. Age-related wear, abrasion, chip, nicks, and fading to pigment. Size approx. 10,0cm x 10,2cm x 6,3cm.
