Impressive gunpowder flask from Amazigh people of the Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The indigenous lands of Amazigh (also called Tamazgha), encompasses Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Western Sahara, Mauritania, the Canary Islands and parts of Egypt, Mali and Niger. This region is believed to have been inhabited by Amazigh since 10,000 BC. Their territories were subsequently occupied during the Arab conquests in the seventh and eighth centuries AD and the majority of the population converted to Islam.
Fascinating wooden gunpowder flask is covered with dark brown goat leather and decorated with domed brass studs. Hand carved camel bone spout with incised decorations. Moderate condition. Plug and few brass studs are missing. Age-related heavy wear. Fractures and tear of leather due to heavy use over the years. Size approx 31,0cm x 14,0cm x 9,0cm.

Returns
Returns and exchange will be accepted within fourteen days (14) of receipt at the purchaser’s cost to include freight and packaging. Items must be returned in the same condition as when they were shipped, and will not be accepted if damaged or altered in any way.
