An exceptional and rare pair of Late Roman bronze sewing thimbles, crafted with precision and designed for tailors working with thick fabrics or leather. Each thimble features a thick, rounded body, elegantly covered with small indented punch-marks, ensuring a secure grip during use. Unlike dressmakers’ closed-top thimbles, these specialized open-top designs allowed for greater control and puncturing force, making them essential tools for Roman artisans.
The rich green patina, with mottled gray hues and light earthen deposits, beautifully reflects their age and authenticity. Despite surface wear and minor corrosion, both thimbles remain in very good condition, showcasing the durability of Roman craftsmanship.

Returns
Returns and exchange will be accepted within fourteen days (14) of receipt at the purchaser’s cost to include freight and packaging. Items must be returned in the same condition as when they were shipped, and will not be accepted if damaged or altered in any way.
