A remarkable group of three different bronze clothing clasps, each finely crafted and rich in historical character. These elegant fittings display the refined aesthetic typical of Kievan Rus’ metalwork, their once-crisp details now gently softened by age. Originally likely enhanced with silvering or gilding, the surfaces have acquired a deep green archaeological patina, imbuing them with a powerful sense of antiquity and long-buried heritage.
The Kievan Rus’ (c. 880–1240 AD), centered on Kyiv, was the earliest major political entity of the Eastern Slavs, its influence extending from the Carpathians to the Volga and from the Black Sea to the Baltic. Prosperous trade routes—linking Scandinavia, Byzantium, and the Eurasian steppe—fostered a vibrant artistic culture blending Norse, Byzantine, and Slavic traditions. Functional yet decorative, bronze clasps such as these were essential elements of medieval dress and served as subtle markers of status and craftsmanship within one of Europe’s most dynamic early states.
Good condition. Light surface wear consistent with age and use. Fine encrusted green patina. Corrosion and minimal dents. Size varies from 3,3cm to 2,5cm. Sell as a set.

Returns
Returns and exchange will be accepted within fourteen days (14) of receipt at the purchaser’s cost to include freight and packaging. Items must be returned in the same condition as when they were shipped, and will not be accepted if damaged or altered in any way.
