Viking Age or Medieval Period, c. 793-1400 AD, Europe

An intriguing and visually striking collection of four small decorative bronze artifacts, originally used to embellish personal items such as caskets, leather goods, or garments. These exquisite relics offer a glimpse into the craftsmanship and artistic traditions of the Viking Age and Medieval Europe—periods defined by conquest, expansion, and cultural transformation.

The Viking Age (793-1066 AD) saw Norse seafarers dominating trade, warfare, and exploration, while the Medieval period (476-1400 AD) laid the foundations of modern European nations. Decorative metalwork like this was highly valued, often signifying status and wealth, and could be found on everything from personal accessories to ceremonial objects.

Made from durable bronze, these artifacts showcase the detailed artistry and symbolic motifs favored by Viking and medieval artisans. Whether used for adornment or functional embellishment, each piece carries the echoes of a bygone era.

A rare opportunity to own authentic medieval craftsmanship—perfect for collectors and history enthusiasts alike.

Good condition. Surface wear and abrasions commensurate with age, nicks and chip, with fine encrusted green patina. Rich earthen deposits throughout. Size varies from 8,0cm to 3,5cm. Sell as a set.

Provenance: Dutch private collection.
